This symbol of spring was planted by settlers across the country to last through the years, producing beautiful, fragrant blossoms every year. Tour our lilac collection with curator Kitty Werner, as she tells you about caring for this easy-to-grow shrub, when to plant them, soil and sun requirements, when and how to prune, and the many varieties and colors. You will leave wanting to plant lilacs beside your house and in your landscape. Bring a bucket and a pair of pruners and take home a fragrant bouquet.
