Join us at the Bethel Strong Community Teaching Garden at the Bethel Rec Center as we launch the 2021 gardening season! Come learn more about what this year's garden will have to offer. (HINT: There's more than veggies!)
Bring the family -- all ages welcome.
We'll follow the most current state mandates about social distancing and masking, but we'll still have fun!
YOU BRING chairs, blankets, a skateboard if that's your thing, a picnic if you'd like. We'll have free drinks and snacks. Find a spot to hang out with your family and just enjoy the day!
WE'LL OFFER garden tours and lawn games, flower seeds to plant onsite, and there's always the skate park!
LEARN about the many ways you can be a part of the garden -- sign up to help out, whether on community workdays or as a regular volunteer.
We plan to offer lots of educational opportunities throughout the growing season. Let us know what you'd like to learn more about!
WE NEED DONATIONS! Bring us your extra veggie starts, old garden tools, mulch hay, composted manure or potting soil, spare change (or more!) and we will put it all to good use.
We have big plans for the teaching garden this year to support Bethel Food Shelf, the Bethel schools, and our whole community. We're writing grants and reaching out for help with needed supplies. Money to buy essentials for the garden is always welcome, but we'd also love to have your time as a volunteer! Come roll up your sleeves with us, learn about caring for a garden, and take home delicious produce when it's ready to harvest.
See you Saturday, May 15! (In case of rain, the launch party will be on Sunday, May 23, 11 am - 1 pm.)
