Calling all aspiring chefs, home foodies, or those new to the kitchen -- the Winooski Memorial Library is excited to announce the next session of our virtual cooking series "Cook the Book"! This program aims to engage our residents in a fun and educational (and delicious) experience that can be enjoyed safely at home. Participants can learn to prepare a healthy and tasty recipe in real-time with a featured local chef while introducing new recipes and techniques for any skill level. Please note: a limited number of ingredient kits will be provided to participants (first-served) and made possible by the generous support of City Market Co-op.
Our next virtual class features local Chef Alganesh Michael, who will be demonstrating Ethiopian and Eritrean cooking techniques!
Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Join Chef Alganesh Michael for a virtual cooking demo as she guides participants through the steps of preparing an assortment of Ethiopian and Eritrean recipes including Sega Wat (spiced beef stew), Yemesser Alicha (curried lentils) and Gomen (braised spinach)! Learn about the diverse range of ingredients that give each dish their unique characteristics and hear from Alganesh as she discusses the flavors of Ethiopia and Eritrea.
This program is free and available to Winooski residents. Space is limited and available on a first-served basis - to register, contact Nate Eddy, Library Director: neddy@winooskivt.gov / 802 655 6424
This program is run virtually via Zoom. A special Zoom meeting invite will be sent to you before each session.
