Join former Middlebury alums, Elizabeth Bueno (Posse 6) and Morgane Richardson (Posse 6) as well as Anti-Racism consultant, Dorcas Davis in a conversation on Reproductive Justice and the Health Care system. Reproductive Justice, as defined by Loretta Ross, is the human right to maintain bodily autonomy, have children or not have children and to parent those children in safe and sustainable communities. In this session, we will go over the core components of the reproductive justice framework and explore how systems of oppression (racism, sexism, ableism etc) impact a person's ability to access reproductive health care. We will then dig deeper, and have panelists will share their own lived experiences as queer + BIPOC parents navigating the healthcare system, from conception to parenthood. Lastly, we'll reach outward and offer up a multitude of ways you can get involved in reproductive justice work as a doula, midwife, OBGYN, activist or politician!
