Sophie Mazowita is a naturalist, educator, and certified wildlife tracker. She currently leads week-long polar bear and wolf-watching trips with Natural Habitat Adventures (travel partner of the World Wildlife Fund) and—when home in Seattle—contributes to local carnivore conservation and wildlife monitoring initiatives. She earned her Master's degree in UVM's Field Naturalist Program and maintains close ties to Vermont, where she started the Burlington Mammal Tracking Project.
