Dear Mt. Mansfield Union School District Residents,
Time for talking about our budget is quickly coming to an end. After the defeat of the MMUSD budget on Town Meeting day, I heard from a number of people that they did not fully understand the budget, the reductions, or how it possibly costs so much to educate our future citizens. With the next vote scheduled for May 6th, NOW is the time to dig in to the budget and clarify any questions we may still have concerning our school’s budget.
Tonight (Tuesday April 29th) our school board representatives are hosting an informational meeting to answer our questions concerning a very complex budget. Come to Camel’s Hump Middle School at 7pm if you seek additional information about the revised budget.
Personally, I am disappointed with the impacts of this reduced budget. However, as a reaction to a defeated budget, the reductions seem to be reasonable deliberate attempts to preserve our quality school system while balancing community demands for a reduced budget. I will be voting for the revised budget.
As a parent of four students, I respectfully ask for your support of the MMUSD budget on May 6th. If you have concerns, complaints, or questions, now is the time to voice those to your member of the school board. See http://cesu.k12.vt.us/ for contact information.
Thank you,
-Tracie Wright
