It's about time we saw a few days of rain in a row - and the amphibians out there feel the same way!
Join Friends of the Mad River and the Mad River Libraries for an in-person event in support of the North Branch Nature Center's Amphibian Road Crossing project.
When: This Thursday (4/29) Night at 7:30pm
Where: The transect we are monitoring is on Airport Road in Warren, near the Junction with Dump Road. Parking will be available at the Edgcomb Barn at 970 Dump Road, Warren.
This is a free, family-friendly event. We do ask that you visit the NBNC Amphibian Web Page ( https://northbranchnaturecenter.org/amphibian-conservation/ ) and review the resources and training materials. It will be cool, rainy, and dark so we ask that participants know what they are getting into. Please come prepared with the following;
• Rain gear and boots
• Reflective clothes
• Bright flashlights
Friends and Library staff will be collecting data and will have some of the necessary supplies on hand, but don't hesitate to bring your own community science tools, such as;
• Camera
• Mobile device for online data entry
• Spatula
• Clean bucket
• Waterproof data sheet and clipboard
• Pencil
• Magnifying glass
As we are still following the state mandates for COVID safety, masks and physical distancing are required at this event. Questions? Please contact Cory Stephenson at moretownlibrary@gmail.com
