This Saturday, May 1st from 8-10 a.m. Johnson Recreation would like to invite community members to volunteer with us at the Old Mill Park Spring Spruce Up. Old Mill Park is a shared use facility located at the end of Railroad street.

We have some big improvements planned for the park, we will be updating the rail trail building this summer and we are making plans to improve the playground.

Last weekend the softball fields and tee ball fields were updated.

We see heavy use of this beautiful park in all seasons. It is a lovely place for our entire community to enjoy.

I would like to remind all users that this is a "pack in - pack out park" for most of the year. That means that if you do not see a trash can, you will need to take ALL of your trash with you.

Dogs are welcome in the park, but dog waste has become a BIG PROBLEM! You must clean up after your dog. There are waste bags available at the trailhead, and we will be installing more dispensers on Saturday. Please be sure to take the waste home with you for proper disposal. The amount of waste being left behind is currently a problem. It is up to all of us to keep the park clean and safe. Please clean up after your dog.
