Want to help make Montpelier shine? Saturday, May 1st is Green Up Day, a special day when volunteers come together for a statewide spring clean up of litter.
If you'd like to volunteer with Montpelier's Green Up Day efforts, stop by the Green Up Day stations in front of Montpelier City Hall and at the Capital City Farmers Market on Saturday, May 1st between 9am and 1pm. There, we will have Green Up Day bags and gloves for volunteers.
To ensure everyone's safety, Green Up Day volunteers are strongly encouraged to wear gloves and to adhere to current Vermont Department of Health protocols.
This year especially, we ask Montpelier volunteers to use our online mapping tool (www.montpelieralive.org/greenupmap), a no-touch platform for coordinating our city's Green Up Day efforts. The online mapping tool allows volunteers to see which areas have been claimed and which ones we still need help with in real time. To claim a stretch of road, park, or parking lot using the tool, click the small Green Up Day icon under the search bar, and then select a street, park, or parking lot. This will allow you to "adopt" the area.
Volunteers can leave their full Green Up Day bags curbside within city limits.
Thank you for your help to make Montpelier sparkle!
