Dear Neighbors,

You are welcome to speak during our public forum, beginning at 7:30 by completing the form at this link: https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/citycouncil/publicforum

Following public forum, any climate emergency reports, and approvals of entertainment permits, we have rather lengthy list of items on our deliberative agenda:

• We have two communications from the Mayor, one regarding the appointment of a new Human Resources Director and the second is the appointment of a new Assistant City Attorney. By Charter, the Council must confirm these appointments.

• We will have communication from the City's Director of Business Support on the Graffiti Clean-up Initiative. Many of you have reached out to me on this over the past month or so and significant efforts are being made to address this community concern.

• We have three resolutions on our agenda:
o The first is regarding the creation of a Burlington Aging Council;
o We have a resolution on City Councilor compensation;
o Our last resolution is regarding public financing of local elections.

• We have a on Community Block Grant and other proposed allocations for housing and community development. These are federal funds that come to the City. A committee of citizens reviews applications and allocations are made. The Council must approve these along with the City's Action Plan for these funds.

• We have 3 ordinances that are coming to us for a second and final reading along with a public hearing on each ordinance change. The changes are regarding:
o A boundary line at 925 North Avenue;
o Parking garage illumination standards;
o And, shoreline setbacks and buffer zones.

• Our last agenda item is. Communication from the City Attorney on the annual report on the City's livable wage ordinance.

As always, I welcome your questions, concerns, and comments, so please be in touch. Your voice matters and I am grateful for your input. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

My best,
Karen
