Neighbors and friends of the Central / Grove Street area in Essex Junction invite you to join us on Green-Up Day for a cleanup of the area around the Amtrak Station and the Multi-Use Path that runs between Amtrak and Essex High School. This effort helps prepare the area for the likely return of Amtrak's Vermonter passenger train in mid-July, and enhances enjoyment of the path and impression of rail travelers of our community.
We will gather at the Essex Junction Amtrak Station from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. Here are some of the things we will do: pick up trash, of course; remove leaves from the Amtrak Platform; rake leaves from the rain garden along the multi-use path; collect fallen limbs; and trim overgrowth. Of course, there is always more!!
If you have a rake, gloves, clippers, or other tools useful in a clean-up, please bring them. Most importantly, bring your team!!
Thanks to Essex Junction Public Works for their support in hauling away what we pile up.
Hope to see you on Saturday – May 1 from 9am to 10:30 am – no need to sign up, just show up. If you have a question, drop me a note.
