State Unemployment Public Hearing May 4

Past event
May 4, 2021, 5 to 7 PM

Hello neighbors -

Many folks have been in touch with me about unemployment issues over the last few weeks. My legislative committee (House Commerce) will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, May 4th to hear from Vermonters about the UI system. If you have experience with the unemployment in the last year, please consider testifying as our committee would benefit from hearing from UI claimants about your experience and where we can improve. We are hearing from many business associations and employers, but not may claimants so far. Testimony is limited to 2 minutes and you are also welcomed to submit written testimony. See details below and please spread the word.

Thank you! Peace, Emma

On Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the House Committee on Commerce and Economic Development and the House Committee on Government Operations will hold a joint public hearing to listen to employees and employers in Vermont about the issues faced with unemployment insurance during the COVID pandemic.

The public is invited to register to speak at the hearing or submit written testimony. To register as a speaker at the hearing, please sign up here: https://legislature.vermont.gov/links/public-hearing-unemployment Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and testimony time will be limited to two minutes per person.
