The Live from the Underground (LFTU) performance series continues this Thursday with a performance by Rick Redington and the Luv, featuring Heather Lynne on bass and Blake Gowan on drums. The 6pm performance on Thursday, April 22nd will be livestreamed digitally on Facebook and followed by an interview with LFTU co-host Jamie Gage.
The Luv, "A Green Mountain Grown Rock Power Trio", has been thrilling audiences for close to a decade in central Vermont and beyond, treating fans to their groove-inflected tunes and immense positivity.
Impacted like the rest of the world by COVID-19 over the last year, the band and a crew of local volunteers decided to set up one of the only performance spaces in the world where the audience and band are separated by a Class A highway – theirs in Stockbridge outside of The Wild Fern, their café and bakery. It is there where they play on a weekly (and sometimes bi-weekly) basis when the weather allows, and the parking lot across Route 100 is always packed.
"We are sending Luv and Light to everyone during this unbelievable moment in history and hope that everyone shows as much luv and kindness to one another as possible," says their website.
Their lifestyle, and the community center that they have built around food, music, and love in Stockbridge was featured last year in a Vermont PBS mini-documentary episode of "Must See VT"
