Maple Adventure Ride - Socially Distanced!

Past event
May 7, 12 AM to May 9, 2021

Greetings fellow community members!

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, the new Vermont Overland, and some details about our Maple Adventure Ride coming up on May 7th-9th.

My name is Ansel Dickey and I'm the new owner of Vermont Overland. We promote community-centered bicycle charity events. Peter Vollers (the former owner) handed the reins of the company over to me after he and his wife moved to New Mexico. My partner Gertrude and I are new homeowners in West Windsor and moved here specifically for the amazing mountain biking, gravel riding, and awesome community. We were previously renting in Woodstock.

With Vermont Overland under new management, a lot of things are changing! We now only promote biking events (2 each year) and each of them supports local charities. The goal is to make these events community-oriented, sustainable, and positive for everyone involved.

Our first event of the year is the Socially Distanced version of the Maple Adventure Ride supported by The Brownsville Butcher & Pantry and Ascutney Outdoors! It will be a super low-key and mellow event. Riders have the option to ride the route whenever they want, on their own, starting Friday 5/7 and ending Sunday 5/9. We anticipate seeing around 200-300 riders, spread out over those three days. More detailed info about the ride can be found here:

Some other things to note!
- come out to cheer! If you see a rider out on the course, don't be afraid to say hi!
- join us at the Brownsville Butcher & Pantry for some Maple Adventure Ride-themed food!
- keep in mind that there will be a slight increase in cycling traffic on the roads that weekend!

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well!

All the best,
- Ansel
