Hey everyone, I'm not sure when the best time to post this on FPF but here's a draft of the message I was thinking of posting. I'll also send this to Audrey for the town website. And you can use it for potential flyers. Please read and suggest edits.
Spring is Here! And so is the Emerald Ash Borer(EAB)! According to Vermont Invasives this bright green little Ash tree killer has arrived on the southern border of Caledonia County and will likely be seen in Danville and surrounding towns this summer if its not here already. Now is the perfect time while you are outside raking and doing spring clean ups to find the ash trees on your property and roadsides and keep a look out for indications of infestations.
The Danville Conservation Commission is hosting an online informational meeting about EAB, what it looks like, how to identify ash trees and infestations and how its likely to affect our trees in VT. It has devastated populations of Ash in other states as it has been spreading across the country. If you are interested in saving a certain special Ash tree, or want to know how to manage your Ash trees best in the face of this pest please join us!
