Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. It's a French phrase that means, simply, "in the open air." Painting outside isn't just about enjoying the sun and the breeze, although that's certainly a big part of the fun! It's also a great way to paint from direct observation, whether that means a landscape, a cityscape, or even something like a portrait.

This workshop will focus on the natural beauty along the Trout River in Montgomery, Vermont with artist Patrick Murphy. All supplies, canvas, paint, brushes will be included.
