Death and Rebirth: Facing Fear and Finding Hope

Enrich your everyday experiences with an exploration of the natural cycle of life, death, and rebirth from a Buddhist perspective. Through this series, Venerable Amy Miller combines her experience of hospice work and knowledge of Buddhist philosophy to provide a heart-warming and realistic approach to this challenging topic. Learn skillful means for making the most of this inevitable transition. Venerable Amy Miller, the Director of Milarepa Center in Barnet, Vermont, did extensive hospice work in San Francisco during the peak of the AIDS epidemic and has been leading workshops on this topic, as well as Buddhist philosophy and meditation, since the early 90's.

UVM professor and poet Daniel Lusk reads from his books Kin and Lake Studies: Meditations on Lake Champlain, which are inspired by wildlife and other treasures often hidden from view in our local forests, lake and ponds, combining folklore, history, and pre-history.

Book Release: Snow-Dark Crossing by Kevin Brown

Montpelier author Kevin Macneil Brown will read from his latest mystery novel and talk about sense of place and the process of crafting mystorical fiction. The fourth book in this Vermont-based series finds historian Liam Dutra once again shining light on lost stories, including some dark deeds in 1920’s Montpelier.
