From Zip Zap-
This film is expressive, fresh, brave, hopeful and symbolises our evolution. It boldly tells the next chapter of our story – without looking back. By buying a ticket you are supporting youth empowerment and social change in South Africa.
This extraordinary acrobatic art film is rooted in South African culture seen through the lens of our youth. We follow the protagonist who experiences living, laughing, breathing, dancing and traversing the technicolour natural Cape Town landscapes as he discovers himself and his environment through the magic of circus. This is our professional performing wing at its finest, exploring collective acrobatic work, African dance, gumboots, pantsula and traditional circus disciplines.
MOYA is captured through the lens of two young international circus artists specialising in movement film.
MOYA is proudly supported by The National Arts Council and the African Culture Fund. Proceeds will fund Zip Zap's free youth and outreach programmes in Cape Town, positively impacting the lives of 2000 youth-at-risk every year.
