Come aboard the Peavine Local, an auditory train ride of imagination, music, travel, and history, with entertaining stops along the way. On the ride, hosted by "conductor" Don Crickard, you'll hear about the history of the Peavine Railroad, listen to train-themed music by local performers Rob Gardner and Susie Smolen, find out about dangerous plants and animals, overhear two local dogs secretly discuss national politics, enjoy local poets Danny Dover and Jillian Sherwin reading their original poems, get advice from "Miss Timmons," and hear waltzes you might have heard at an old-time dance hall, way back when. You might even hear a joke or two from some of the younger travelers or the occasional news brief from the conductor. Each episode also features a story of travel and adventure excerpted from West with the Night by Beryl Markham.

Additional performers include Janine Reeves, Todd Eberhardt, Marlys Eddy, Jen Edmonds, MaryBeth Deller, Erica B. Robinson, and Martha Slater. The episodes are produced by Jeremy Seeger and recorded and mixed by Jake Wildwood. The episodes are directed by, respectively, MaryBeth Deller, Erica B. Robinson, and Jeremy Seeger.

Episode 1 of the Peavine Local will be available beginning on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at 4 pm ET; episode 2 will be available beginning on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at 4 pm ET; and episode 3 will be available beginning on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 4 pm ET.
