Meet Me in the Garden: Starting Vegetables from Seed

Saturday, April 24, 2021

The Barton Community Garden (BCG) invites you to join a workshop on starting vegetables from seed. The workshop will be held via Zoom and followed by a live question and answer time with experienced gardeners who are BCG volunteers. Information will be shared about selecting seeds, what type of soil and containers to use, and what other requirements your seeds will need to grow and thrive. We will also talk about transplant dates and methods. The first ten families who register will receive a seed starting packet including seeds, soil, containers and hand tools. For more information and to register email us at bartongivinggarden@gmail.com. Handouts and seeds will be available to everyone who attends through the Community Seed Exchange. Thanks to Umbrella for providing the funds for this workshop and to E.M. Brown for securing all the supplies! The Barton Community Garden is a volunteer-run garden that distributed over 2,000 pounds of food to our local community last summer. If you want more information about the garden, about other planned events or how you can get involved email us at bartongivinggarden@gmail.com.
