In this presentation, Rob Cary from Lamoille Restorative Center will discuss a few basic skills that can be utilized to help foster open communication. Open to all Lamoille Valley parents with children in grades k-12. Building upon a foundation of restorative practices, we will learn about Active Listening, OARS, and the 10 Roadblocks to communication. We will then discuss how these ideas can apply to our personal and professional interactions. We know that understanding comes through open dialogue, and when we apply practices that enhance communication, we create space for us to truly understand and relate to the other person. Rob's presentation will be followed by an opportunity for group discussion with other parents from around the region.
