Spring has arrived and your “to do list” may be long. But wait--there’s one more thing to add! Set aside the morning of Saturday May 3 for Cavendish Green Up Day. This annual statewide event encourages Vermonters to join friends and neighbors in clearing town roadsides of accumulated winter trash. For 44 years community minded folks have picked up everything from bottles and cans to disposable diapers and abandoned washing machines---all littering our beautiful Vermont roads. The big clean-up starts at 9:00 a.m. at Cavendish Elementary School in Proctorsville where special green trash bags, work gloves, maps and road assignments will be handed out. Hot Green Mountain Coffee will be available to get you energized for the big sweep. Green Up Day ends at noon with a free barbecue on the Proctorsville Green. In case of rain, the event will be held the following Saturday on May 10. For more information call Diane McNamara at Cavendish Town Office at 226-7292.
