Know Your Rights (Zoom) Training

Past event
Apr 12, 2021, 7 to 8 PM

Everyone has basic rights under the U.S. Constitution and civil rights laws. Living in a democracy, it’s critical that we know what our rights are for our own protection and also to help others. What are your rights if you are stopped by the police? Or by Border Patrol or ICE? We will talk about the Fourth, Fifth, and Tenth Amendments to the US Constitution and how to keep yourself and others safe. Learn more about what your rights are, how to exercise them, and what to do if your rights are violated. Led by Kira Kelley, chair of the Vermont National Lawyers Guild and a contract attorney with the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund.
