Take a virtual tour of the Vermont National Guard Museum in Colchester on March 23 at 1:30 with Jerry Mullen. The museum houses artifacts from Vermont's military history from the Revolution to modern times. Ever hear of the Society of the Forty and Eight? We have one of the original rail cars that gave rise to that outfit. Find out which Vermonters defeated the Spanish fleets in the Philippines and in the West Indies. Did you know that a Vermont general was the only National guard general who was not sent home in disgrace during WWII. but ended up commanding the 43rd Division? And that a Vermonter from Newbury stopped the deepest German advance in the Bulge? These are only a few of the things you can find at this little museum. Contact jane@cscvt.org for the link.
