Green Up Day, is observed on the first Saturday of May and is a state wide effort in the state of Vermont to clean up roadside trash. The first Green Up Day was April 18, 1970 and was started by Governor Deane C. Davis.
- Green-Up bags are now available through May 3rd at the Monkton Town Hall (during regular hours)
On Saturday May 3rd from 8am to 12 noon, the students from the Monkton Maples 4H will be distributing bags and assisting town residents in signing up for Green-Up routes around our town-
Filled Green-Up bags should be taken to the town garage (up the hill from the recycling center) on Saturday 5/3 or Sunday 5/4. Thanks to all who continue to participate in this great Vermont tradition!
