Please join Sterling, our Conservation Biology students, and Vanessa Petro '06 for a guest lecture, The Castor Conundrum: Implications for Beaver Related Restoration. This lecture is hosted by Farley Brown '85, Faculty in Ecology, and will be held by Zoom.
Vanessa will discuss research findings on topics including beaver landscape genetics, relocation responses, dam persistence, and space use for studies recently conducted in Oregon. Her presentation will examine the implications of working with beaver for restoration, the knowledge gaps that exist regarding their landscape ecology, and why context matters for effective conservation.
