7th Annual Garlic Mustard Eradication Event

Past event
May 3, 2014

Please help us eradicated garlic mustard in the Mile Around Woods in North Bennington on Saturday May 3. Meet at the upper stone gate at 10:00 am. No skill or tools needed. If you have any empty mulch bags, please bring them along to repurpose as collection bag. (If not, we will provide.)

Garlic mustard is a highly invasive weed that threatens the wildflowers and Virginia White butterfly. The best organic way to control it is to pull it out by the roots (they come easily) and dispose of in plastic bags. We send ours to a horse farm to be composted. If left lying on the ground, they will continue to produce seeds. You are welcome to take home as many as you want; they are edible and tasty!
