The Selectboard is considering this matter on their Tue Mar 9 agenda. They may decide during this meeting whether to accept one or two lots between Camp Street and Lague Lane bequeathed to the town on the condition they be developed, used and maintained as a "neighborhood park" between Lague Lane and Camp Street. If the town does not accept the lots, the next beneficiaries in line, the Aldrich Library and the Barre Congregational Church, would receive the lots.
The library and church, or those they sell it to, would have no restrictions, beyond town zoning, on what they could do with the lots. Such owners could develop the lots.
The Selectboard meeting on Tue Mar 9 starts at 8pm. This topic should start soon after 8pm. The public is welcome to join by videoconference here: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_YTM4MzcyNmItZGVlNy00MWQxLWIzMjgtMDE1O[...]%7d
