Saturday, April 26, is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. From 10 am-2 pm, at Holley Hall, Bristol Police Department will be collecting leftover prescription medication for safe disposal.
We all know that drug abuse/addiction is rampant in our community and throughout the state. Many initiate drug abuse with "leftover" prescription drugs they find in other people's medicine cabinets. "Leftover" pain meds are also sought after by burglars. Do your part to address opiate abuse/addiction: get rid of unused meds. There are several ways to do this.
1) Bring unused meds to police department: You can call Bristol PD (453-2533) and arrange for the officer on-duty to take the prescription medications away and dispose of them safely.
2) Bring unused meds to your doctor's office: Ask your provider's office if they can dispose of meds.
3) Dispose of it on your own: The most environmentally friendly way to do it is not to flush unused meds, but rather to immerse pills in very wet kitty litter or coffee grounds and then throw the mixture away.
Do your part to prevent drug abuse!
