Free Winter Hiking Workshops This Week
Snowshoes or microspikes? More Vermonters are hitting the trail this winter than ever, and the Green Mountain Club wants to make sure you have everything you need for safe and fun winter hiking experiences. GMC is hosting two free, virtual winter recreation workshops this week/next week.
Tuesday, Feb 16, 6:30-7:30 pm: Intro to Winter Hiking Workshop will cover proper layering, footwear, what to pack, and what factors you need to know when planning for cold, snowy, windy, or otherwise challenging hiking conditions. Be prepared with this interactive, hands-on session.

Wednesday, Feb 17, 6-7 pm: Winter Camping 101 will pick up where the hiking workshop left off and cover overnight winter excursions. Learn where and how to set up camp, how to find water, prepare food, and stay warm all night long. There will be plenty of opportunities for Q&A with experienced GMC staff.
