The Front & Scrag Mountain Music: Livestream Improv

Past event
Feb 12, 2021, 7:30 to 8 PM

Join The Front online for an experimental event combining painting and music. Our friend Evan Premo of Scrag Mountain Music will be live in the gallery with Front member Glen Coburn Hutcheson, creating a unique improvised duet between double bass and oilsticks. Evan describes it: "It's been a deeply rewarding rehearsal process. Glen and I are co-improvising -- I'm running my double bass through looping software to create layer upon layer of sound just as Glen adds layers to his canvas with oil sticks. We influence each other as we improvise together with sound and color, phrases and shapes, and communicate emotion through sound and light waves."

The event is free; the resulting painting(s) will be available to purchase on Scrag's pay-what-you-can model, with any proceeds split between Scrag Mountain Music and The Front.
