Children's Program: CFL Family Bird & Beast Night

Past event
Feb 12, 2021, 6 to 7:30 PM

There's still time to sign up for Family Bird & Beast (Zoom) Night presented by Castleton Free Library!

Have you been watching bright hungry redpolls, bluebirds, or snow bunting flocks swirling across the snowy meadows? Or are you among the lucky birders who have seen crossbills or evening grosbeaks this season? In any case, our February Family Night (on Zoom) will be devoted to winter birds and beasts. This free program for kids of any age and their significant adults will be held this Friday, Feb.12th from 6:00-7:30 pm. Please register ASAP, and I will email the Zoom link to you directly (for security reasons and to limit the number of screens). Include the number and ages of participating kids in your contact: (castletonfreelibrary@gmail.com), or FB message.

The program will include VT Bird & Beast Trivia for all ages (with prizes), storytelling, a very quick introduction to using eBird and counting birds for the Great Backyard Bird Count (which continues through this weekend), bird ID tips, and a short demonstration of the craft projects. This month, our project material kits will be distributed as a follow-up during the week AFTER the program (school vacation week), Tuesday-Friday at the library's back entrance.

Are you interested, but can't make it to the evening program? You may still request a B & B project kit, which will be included in with your next "curbside" batch of library materials. Keep those requests coming - we love filling your curbside orders! Note: we will be CLOSED for Presidents' Day on Monday.
