The Burlington Choral Society, under the direction of Artistic Director Richard Riley, will perform the Requiem, “Grande Messe des Morts,” composed by François-Joseph Gossec in 1760. This marks the first performance of this piece in Vermont and one of the first in North America. It provided inspiration for Mozart in the composition of his Requiem of 1791. Full orchestra and 90-voice chorus.
