The Children's Literacy Foundation (CLiF), a nonprofit based in Waterbury Center, runs eight programs that inspire a love of reading and writing among low-income, at-risk, and rural kids (ages 12 and under) in New Hampshire and Vermont. We bring local authors, illustrators, and storytellers to the region's most vulnerable kids to excite them with books and stories. We also provide fun family literacy programming, and give away more than $850,000 in new books each year.
During COViD, we've also started this Book Club for Grown-ups, featuring talented, award-winning authors who write for both kids and adults. We ask the authors about their books, their writing practice, and just about anything else we can think of. It's a chance for a live discussion with your favorite author from the comfort of your living room! You can visit our website to learn about other upcoming authors. https://clifonline.org
