As part of the new Vermont Community Leadership Network, the VT Council on Rural Development is hosting an online workshop next Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 10:00 AM titled Local Approaches to Strengthen Our Communities And Confront The Global Climate Challenge. This workshop will feature:

· Dorset Energy Committee member and businessman Jim Hand describing major energy upgrades to the Riley Rink in Manchester

· Steve Maier of the Climate Economy Action Center of Addison County sharing information about the LiveGreenVT website to connect people with great climate-friendly businesses

· Elaine Wang of the Barre City Energy Committee describing their work to engage the public and work with partners

· Michelle McCutcheon-Schour of Efficiency Vermont sharing tips for how to work best with Vermont's Energy Efficiency Utility

The first hour of the workshop will feature short presentations and an open forum. From 11:00 to 11:30, we will have optional breakout groups for anyone who wants to have deeper discussions in a small group setting.
