Our third snowshoe outing of the season will be this Saturday, February 6th starting from the parking area on the southside of Ricker Pond (adjacent to VT 232).
We'll then head up the VAST/Cross Vermont Trail, sidetrack through the campground, and then follow the Wells River up to the dam at the lower end of Lake Groton. The route is 2.45 miles roundtrip, with little-to-moderate elevation, and will take approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete.
This event is sponsored by the Groton Recreation Committee and free to all participants. If you can join us, please plan to meet in the parking lot no later than 3pm.
Two important items:
1. Sign up for our snowshoeing mail list to hear of future activities AND any cancellations due to weather, etc.: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScTzb5LJv-z5yDSDPvINjQRvhP6Z4v18nRtxb00ZX6Zdun3Dg/viewform
2. We'll be continuing to adhere to the Jan. 5th update of the "Be Smart, Stay Safe Order in VT" (https://apps.health.vermont.gov/COVID/faq/?fbclid=IwAR3zWlRQqGcm_vdXqMP4TnrEafeeMcc7r53JI9iO[...]der). Please plan to bring a mask and wear it at all times, while staying at least 6 feet away from people you don't live with.
With a bit warmer weather than previous snowshoes and some fresh snow, we hope to see you on Saturday!
