Adult Book Discussion: A Door in the Earth by Amy Waldman

The Jeudevine Memorial Library is inviting ten people to read the book A Door in the Earth by Amy Waldman and attend an online book discussion on Friday evening, Feb. 26 at 7 pm. Kick back with the beverage of your choice and talk about this brilliant book which is on Library Director, Lisa Sammet's, best books list! The author was a journalist in Afghanistan for the New York Times after 9/11. She uses her experience there to create a taut, complicated novel about the clash between cultures, our moral limitations, and the difficulties in finding the right thing to do in a morally ambiguous world. With compelling characters, action and suspense, the book has themes which resonate with anyone wanting a story with complex ideas.

The first ten people who sign up will get copies of the book to check-out. If you have already read the book and want to attend the discussion please also contact the library to join the discussion. Each person will get a personal invite. Email jeudevinelibrary@hardwickvt.org to join the discussion or call 472-5948.
