Do you have a favorite tree in Montpelier? Did you know that trees have a Birthday? Would you like to celebrate our amazing trees that make Montpelier a beautiful and healthy place to live?
As the holiday Tu B'Shevat, the Birthday of Trees begins, we invite you to step out onto your front porch tonight at 7 pm to join your neighbors in a front porch singing of Happy Birthday to the trees. In past years we have sung to the trees in as many as 14 different languages! We'll begin right after the courthouse clock chimes 7 bells.
The celebration of Tu B'Shevat, Wednesday night and all day Thursday, comes right in the middle of the 2021 Montpelier Festival of Trees, January 24th through the 31st, sponsored by the Montpelier Tree Board.
To participate in the 2021 Festival and the Tree Board Scavenger Hunt go to https://www.montpelier-vt.org/1218/Festival-of-Trees
Remember, let's stay safe and healthy, so when you walk outside, dress for the weather and "Masks on faces, 6 foot spaces, uncrowded places"
Although we can't hug our human friends right now, we can hug a tree.
