This Sunday from 12:30 to 4:30 the NorthWoods Stewardship Center will be hosting a kickoff event for Ash Awareness Week (see http://www.vtinvasives.org/ashawarenessweek for more details on other Ash Awareness events). This event will highlight how we use ash trees to make baskets, ax handles, snowshoes, and much more. Come meet a basket maker and learn how we turn trees into beautiful baskets, see an ax handle being made, and join a forester for a walk in the woods to learn how to identify ash trees in the forest. The event will be held at the NorthWoods Stewardship Center in East Charleston (for directions see: http://www.northwoodscenter.org/wordpress/164-2/directions/).
