Plainfield's Select Board has been asked to approve postponing Town Meeting to April or May. Legislation to approve the option to postpone town meeting will be before the Legislature shortly. Folks representing Plainfield favor its passage, but it looks as though that won't happen until mid-January.

In the meantime, we'd like to hear from you what your thoughts are. Join the Select Board meeting next Monday at 7:15 PM - information on how to join our Zoom meeting below. There have been a lot of changes since Town Meeting on March 3rd last year. Zoom meetings, school in-person, then not in-person, testing for a disease we'd barely heard a year ago, staying away from loved ones to avoid the spread of this disease. Because it hasn't yet abated, in November the Plainfield Select Board chose to have all Town Meeting matters decided by Australian ballot - just for 2021 Town Meeting. Yes this means that those articles we get a chance to argue about on the floor will be decided by a complicated ballot - likely two-sided, I understand.
