Dewees and Gould Host Acting Workshops - the Art House, Craftsbury

Caution: Wet Paint! is an after school program funded by the Vermont Arts Council and presented by The Art House. It is open to children in grades K-4 at Craftsbury Schools, and anyone from area schools who wishes to participate. This program is based in theater arts, but reaches into visual arts through set and costume design. Projects completed in the 2013-2014 school year have been six weeks of high school drama, a graffiti club in the middle school, a short version of James and the Giant Peach in grades K-4, and many small hands-on projects including painting and hand building with clay.

Rusty DeWees, also known as The Logger, is an entertainer, comedic artist, actor, producer, writer, musician, master of duct tape. He will be teaching students to deliver stories and jokes that are already written, focusing on the different ways that you can tell a joke for different responses from your audience. Rusty grew up in Stowe, Vermont where he was actively involved in theatre throughout high school and college. As a young adult, he performed with the award winning Vermont Repertory Theatre, before moving to New York City where he trained at the George Loris Actors Theatre School and the Lee Strasberg Institute.
