We have new books arriving for your end-of-year reading. You can find descriptions of all new arrivals listed by month under the Collections tab of our website, www.greensborofreelibrary.org. Here are a few that arrived yesterday:

Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times, by Katherine May. Katherine May could not have realized her book would be perfect for our current winter as she was writing this personal narrative about her own dark times and path out of them. "An intimate, revelatory book exploring the ways we can care for and repair ourselves when life knocks us down." [Goodreads.com]

Apollo's Arrow: The Profound and Enduring Impact of Coronavirus on the Way We Live, by Nicholas Christakis. This book does address our current moment, showcasing the history that got us here and envisioning how this pandemic will shape our future. Thanks to a patron for requesting this title; feel free to make requests when you hear of new books that interest you!

Leave the World Behind, by Rumaan Alam. A NYC couple retreat to a remote AirBnB luxury home for a vacation and quality time with their teenage children, only to have a pair of strangers arrive in a panic reporting a blackout in NYC…

A Time for Mercy, by John Grisham. The hero of A Time to Kill returns in a courtroom drama "bursting with courthouse scheming, small-town intrigue, and stunning plot twists." [back cover]

Transcendent Kingdom, by Yaa Gyasi, author of Homegoing. A story about race in America and one woman's loss, featuring a Ghanaian family living in Alabama.
