On Dec. 14 at 1:30, Rich Araldi, a seasoned performer, will present a virtual solo vibraphone concert that will range in style from traditional, to jazz, to more contemporary, from laid back to up beat. The program will include unique interpretations of familiar Christmas standards like "O Holy Night", "Carol of the Bells", "What Child is This", as well as a few Hanukkah songs. There will also be secular holiday favorites like "Silver Bells" and "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)", and seasonal songs such as "Let it Snow", "Jingle Bells", and "Winter Wonderland". In addition to playing, he shares stories, anecdotes, fun facts, and trivia relating to the music.
Have you ever seen a live vibraphone performance? In addition to its beautiful tone quality and uniqueness, it adds a visual element as the four mallets being played on the bars appear at one minute to be dancing, and the next look like they're chasing each other. If you go to Rich's website (http://www.richaraldimusic.com/)you can listen to a few excerpts from his programs.
