Maybe you've seen the announcement on the town website, or heard about it from your neighbors - it's the long-awaited first public hearing of the revision of the Ferrisburgh Land Use (aka Zoning) Regulations!
The first official public hearing will be hosted by the Ferrisburgh Planning Commission on Zoom* (Zoom link below) on Wednesday, the 16th of December at 7 pm. This will be your first and best opportunity to help us make our land use regulations as good as they can be.
The draft revision is available from the town website - https://www.ferrisburghvt.org/ Under Announcements, choose "Notice of Public Hearing...." After following that link, you can see the notice of the hearing (which includes a summary of the revisions) and also the draft revision. Or you can request a paper copy from our Zoning Administrator, Bonnie Barnes at Bonnie.Barnes@ferrisburghvt.org If you are unable to attend the public hearing, please email your comments to Bonnie!
Still reading? Thank you! Here's an outline of the rest of the process: After the Planning Commission's public hearing, improvements to the draft revision will be made based on what we've heard. That new draft will then go to the Selectboard. The Selectboard will then hold a public hearing. Following the Selectboard's public hearing, the approval of the revised land use regulations will be up for public vote. Our aim is to have that public vote happen on Town Meeting Day, March 2nd, 2021.
