Ethan Tapper: Wildlife and Vermont's Forests

Past event
Dec 15, 2020, 1:30 to 2:30 PM

Tuesday December 15 at 1:30PM—Join Ethan Tapper, the Chittenden County Forester, and the Community Senior Center for a virtual presentation on how wildlife use Vermont's forests, and how we can manage our forests for healthy wildlife.
As the Chittenden County Forester, it is Ethan's job to help landowners, municipalities, foresters and conservation organizations manage their land responsibly for a variety of benefits, including wildlife habitat. He will discuss how wildlife use Vermont's forests, the threats facing our forests and the wildlife that rely on them, and how forests can be actively managed to support habitat for the full range of Vermont's wildlife species.
He will also discuss how managing for rich, abundant, diverse wildlife habitat is completely in line with forest management that improves the health and resilience of forests, and how keeping our forests working benefits wildlife both in Vermont and across the globe.
Bring your questions about wildlife, habitat management, and forestry for a Q & A session after the presentation.
