Seamus Egan is one of the world's most influential and revered traditional Irish multi-instrumentalists. From his beginnings as a teen prodigy, to his groundbreaking solo work with Shanachie Records, to his founding of Irish-American powerhouse band Solas, to his current wide-ranging project work, Seamus has helped define the sound of Irish music today. His mastery of Irish flute, tenor banjo, guitar, mandolin, tin whistle, and low whistle makes his performances a thrill. As a performer, few others can make so many instruments or such wickedly complex ornaments seem so effortless.
Addison County native Moira Smiley is a composer, instrumentalist, and singer with an expressive and exquisite voice. A powerhouse of talent, she's sung in arenas, cathedrals, kitchens and glaciers. She's performed with the likes of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, tUnE-yArDs; New World Symphony, Irish super-group SOLAS and so many others. Moira's original compositions, choral arrangements, and folk music are being sung by millions of voices around the world today.
We are continuing to explore ways to stay connected to the music, our coffee house community and contribute to artist's lost income streams. We are thrilled that Moira and Seamus will be joining us for this special concert. We are huge fans of thier music!
