– The Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce presents "Engaging State Government in a Global Pandemic," a free virtual event in which experts will address topics affecting local businesses, explain how the legislature is working during the pandemic and how to engage in the process to support business interests. The program will run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11.
This event is free and open to the public, Chamber members and non-members, and includes a Q & A. The panel will be moderated by Committee Vice Chair Daphne Larkin, director of media relations and community affairs at Norwich University. Matt Musgrave, Associated General Contractors of Vermont
Matt Musgrave brings his background in real estate, advocacy and association experience to help further AGCVT's mission. Matt's focus is on working with AGCVT's leadership and lobbying team to craft an advocacy plan to work with legislators, state agencies and the administration to promote policies that will help AGCVT members get things done.
Patti Komline, Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC
After having served for 12 years as a state legislator, Patti Komline leverages her unique perspective while serving her clients at the State House. As a former lawmaker she understands what resonates, and as importantly what doesn't, when communicating with government leaders. Believing in the good intentions on all sides of issues makes it easy for Patti to develop respectful relationships, which has been the foundation for her work.
William Driscoll, Associated Industries of Vermont
Bill Driscoll has provided legislative and regulatory advocacy for Vermont's manufacturing community for more than 19 years. He has taken a leadership role in the business community on issues ranging from unemployment compensation to chemical regulation to workforce development. Before joining AIV he served as a legislative assistant for Congressman Charlie Bass in New Hampshire's Second Congressional District.
Chuck Storrow, Leonine Public Affairs
Chuck Storrow is a lawyer and lobbyist with extensive experience in energy/utilities, telecommunications, environmental policy, insurance and health care. Chuck combines versatility with an eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of Vermont's political, economic and social landscape. Prior to joining Leonine Public Affairs in 1989, he practiced law with a Burlington firm specializing in civil and administrative litigation. He served on the Vermont Environmental Board from 1989 to 1992 and represents a number of Central Vermont clients on permitting and environmental matters.
