AN INVITATION
For generations, Calaisians young and old have bundled up on the Eve of Christmas Day and traversed the hills of Calais by road or by trail to the Old West Church, gathering by candlelight to ring in the holiday season. We've all grown accustomed to being serenaded by the adult and youth choirs accompanied by our very own June Morse on the piano. We've enjoyed the readings by Calais high school seniors; watched fires tended and services introduced by the Morse Elders.
While Covid-19 has thrown a wrench into all of our holiday plans, the Old West Church remains present to help you and your family come together virtually for a festive evening, filled with joy and tradition. Join us from your living rooms or, for the truly hearty amongst us, from your candle lit porches for a Zoom service on the evening of December 24th, 2020. We'll be sharing an original, unique, pre-recorded Christmas Eve Service.

The Zoom room can accommodate 500 attendees, more than even our beloved Old West Church, so come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant to the Old West Church Virtual Christmas Eve Service! (No RSVP required).
The Zoom Room will be open at 4:30 PM for mingling, catching up, and making new friends. The service will begin at 5 PM, and last about a ½ hour. You are, of course, encouraged to sing along!
We hope you'll settle in by your own wood stoves with a warm cup of tea or a glass of eggnog and join your neighbors virtually for this treasured holiday tradition.
