Friends and Neighbors of the Old East End,
These are difficult times and we are all doing our best to stay safe while the Covid-19 spread is on the increase. We are looking forward to a time when Covid-19 is back under control. In the meantime, how we can offer a way for our friends and neighbors to enjoy the outdoors in Covid-friendly ways?
To envision this idea, the Old East End Neighborhood Coalition is starting to plan for the Old East End Winterfest to be held in Schmanska Park, hopefully in January and February of 2021. We are working with AARP VT and the Burlington Parks Recreation Waterfront to make the Barn accessible and to host outdoor activities that will provide safe access, community involvement, warmth, and a way to combat the double isolation of winter and the Covid pandemic.
Our planning will begin on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 via the Zoom. This is an open meeting. We'd love volunteers to join us in creating a series of Covid-safe events at the Park.
