Help End Diaper Need This #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. On this #GivingTuesday, the Junior League of Champlain Valley (JLCV) is asking for your help to meet our #GivingTuesday Community Challenge of $7,500. We are a 100% volunteer-based organization of women dedicated to implementing change that directly benefits our local community. In 2018, we established Chittenden County's first Diaper Bank to assist those struggling with #diaperneed.

During a typical year, we aim to distribute 100,000 diapers to our distribution partners. But since March 2020 and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen unprecedented demand for diapers. Over the past nine months alone, we have more than quadrupled our distributions and increased our distribution footprint to 13 of the state's 14 counties. We expect to distribute diaper number 450,000 on #GivingTuesday!

In order to continue the increased distribution pace that's been established, JLCV has issued a #GivingTuesday Community Challenge and is seeking to raise $7,500 – the cost of approximately 50,000 diapers. This will bring the Diaper Bank's 2020 total to half a million diapers distributed to community partners across the state!

Even small donations make a tremendous difference. It takes only $7.50 to purchase one package of pull-ups, the most expensive type of diaper, and $45 to ensure that JLCV can diaper one child for a month. This is because on average, donated dollars allow JLCV to obtain twice as many diapers as can be purchased retail. When you give to JCLV, you double your impact.
